The FootNotes collection of essays sprang from the project Route Biographies and research program Heritage on the Margins hosted at ZRC SAZU as well as from various other individual and institutional initiatives involving here presented authors. However, the story is not finished. Our wish is to expand the initial project and to throw the doors open to future authors and ideas. With a focus on writing and walking, we invite scholars, creative artists, curators, activists, and others to walk, talk, write, and share ideas and approaches with us.
